Guided street-art tour this Saturday in Aarhus

You are invited to join a guided Street Art Tour through the streets of Aarhus on Saturday29.11. The meeting place is Telefontorvet 9, Aarhus C , next to the Tiger store, 13:00 hrs. You will notice someone with a SAA sign, so just ask him about the tour ;)

The tour will be a 30 to 45 minutes walk and will end at Double Rainbow Kakaobar (Skovgaardsgade, 3). More details about the route on the meeting place. The guided tour will be held in English language.

It's a great opportunity if you are a tourist in Aarhus and want to find out more about the 'hidden' history of the city. You will have the chance to see and photograph some murals that are representative for the city, such as 'Seagull Kiss' by Hans Krüll and more... We will also see the latest works, the new suff in town - both legal and illegal pieces.

:: please confirm your participation on the Facebook Event!

Hope to meet you in great numbers and discover the painted city together, in a friendly, relaxed week-end atmosphere. Vi ses!

About the tours

The tours will be held periodically and are based on small donations (only if you like it and want to support:). Streea Art Aarhus guides will also put you, in the future, in contact with local street artists. They can show you some of their great techniques and ways of promoting their art on the streets ;)

Aarhus abandoned train station is a street-art paradise!

It's been more than one year since I last visited the 'haunted' place. Although architecturally speaking, nothing dramatically changed, most of the (street)art works are transforming the place into an opened gallery, a paradise for those who want to do or practice street-art.

The artworks are changing constantly, some looking better than others, but the most important thing is keeping the flow. Most of the people who hang out here are skaters, graffers,  teenagers in general. Good people trying to have fun and make use of the free space... I haven't really seen people sleeping or doping there during the day, as most of the people I talked to told me they think it's happening.

What I did find were a lot of spray cans and graffitti drawings all over the place. It's a good place to practice without being closely observed.

This ramp was still good to use and the little pirate face looks like the symbol of the place.

I liked these two walls most:

Maybe this place should transform into a nice (more organized) hangout place for street art and alternative culture people. Or maybe its charm lies in the sweet chaos :)
